Hi! My name is Alexis Raphael, and I'm a Jewish vocalist, actor, and artist, currently residing in Toronto, Ontario. I began my professional training in voice over 10 years ago, studying pop, jazz, musical theatre, and classical voice with a number of esteemed coaches, including Jonathan Monro, Elaine Overholt and Chris Tsujiuchi, among many others, and graduated from the Music Theatre Performance Program at St. Lawrence College in 2020.

 

Since graduating, I've worked on a number of exciting projects, including an online collaboration with EveryBody Onstage, as I'm extremely passionate about ending fat-phobia and creating a more inclusive space within the theatre industry. Most recently, I worked with Smile Theatre, taking part in their Serenades program, which has further opened my eyes to the healing power of music, and how strongly it connects us.

I've also continued to grow and expand as an artist through workshops with incredible mentors and performers, such as David Connolly, Kimberly Grigsby and Natalie Weiss, as I truly believe that as artists and people, there is always more to learn.
